ஏகாதசி

Ekadashi is one of the holiest days dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is observed on the eleventh day of every lunar fortnight. Devotees observe fasting by avoiding grains and certain foods, spend the day in prayer, meditation, and the chanting of Vishnu’s divine names. Reading the Vishnu Sahasranamam and Bhagavad Gita is considered especially auspicious. Observing Ekadashi with devotion is believed to purify the mind and body, remove past karmas, increase spiritual strength, bring peace, prosperity, and divine protection, and guide devotees toward a righteous life.
