Krithigai is one of the most auspicious days dedicated to Lord Murugan (Kartikeya). The Krithigai star is closely associated with Murugan, making this day highly sacred for his devotees. Special abhishekams are performed with milk, sandalwood, honey, and Panchamirtham, followed by deeparadhana. Devotees visit Murugan temples, light ghee lamps, chant ‘Om Saravanabhava’, and recite Kanda Sashti Kavasam. Worship on Krithigai is believed to remove fear, grant courage and confidence, improve health, protect the family from negative influences, and bring success, wisdom, and spiritual progress.
